Comedian Gabriel Iglesias is "happy to be alive" after a scary incident involving a private jet. The 46-year-old funny man nicknamed "Fluffy" shared video on his social media of a private plane he had been a passenger on sitting in a muddy field with people walking away toward emergency services. "Emergency landing!!!" the comedian wrote on Instagram.

Ed Ames, whose long career included hit recordings, TV stardom, and Broadway roles, died May 21 in Los Angeles at 95. No cause was given.

Pat Saperstein Deputy Editor Ed Ames, a member of the Ames Brothers singing quartet who starred in TV series “Daniel Boone” in the 1960s, died Sunday at his home in Los Angeles. He was 95. Ed Ames and his brothers Vic, Joe and Gene had a hit with their version of “Rag Mop” in 1950. As a solo artist, he had hits with “Who Will Answer?,” “My Cup Runneth Over” and “Try to Remember.” In the 1950s, they had a syndicated TV program “The Ames Brothers Show” and had 49 songs that charted before they broke up in 1963. He then launched an acting career, which included off-Broadway performances in “The Crucible” and “The Fantasticks,” as well as a starring role on Broadway in “Carnival!” He starred with Kirk Douglas, Gene Wilder and William Daniels in the Broadway production of “One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest.”

Charna Flam Prime Video has released the first official trailer for its Emmy-winning comedy series “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel.” The upcoming fifth and final season will have a total of eight episodes. The season will premiere with three episodes on April 14, followed by one new episode each Friday, until the May 26 series finale. The fifth season plot has been kept under wraps, but according to Prime Video, “Midge finds herself closer than ever to the success she’s dreamed of, only to discover that closer than ever is still so far away.” Created, written, directed and executive produced by Amy Sherman-Palladino and Daniel Palladino, the series stars Rachel Brosnahan, Tony Shalhoub, Alex Borstein, Marin Hinkle, Michael Zegen, Kevin Pollak, Caroline Aaron, Reid Scott, Alfie Fuller and Jason Ralph.

The Cherokee Nation Film Office and the state of Nebraska are helping filmmaker Andrew Troy bring the journey of Ponca Chief Standing Bear to the big screen.

One of the founding members of the country band Alabama, Teddy Gentry, was arrested on a misdemeanor marijuana possession charge Monday.  Gentry, a bass player for the music group, was put behind bars in the Cherokee County Jail in northeast Alabama and was additionally charged with unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia, records showed.  The 70-year-old bassist was released about a half-hour later, according to Alabama court records. The Cherokee Nation and its film office are celebrating the premiere of Land of Gold and the first production of its kind to be filmed at the tribe’s studios and state-of-the-art virtual soundstage located in Owasso.  The film, directed by award-winning filmmaker Nardeep Khurmi, debuted at the Tribeca Festival in New York City this month.
