A group of thieves completed a smash-and-grab raid on a Park Avenue jewelry store early Saturday morning, taking merchandise worth hundreds of thousands of dollars, police said.  New York City Police (NYPD) said that three thieves broke through the glass front of Cellini Jewelers near E. 56th St. at around 3:30 a.m.The group broke three display cases containing hundreds of thousands of dollars-worth of watches and other jewelry.  The thieves escaped in a silver sedan that waited outside the store, completing the entire heist in under three minutes, according to police.

A homeless woman who allegedly robbed a dead man in New York City and has dozens of prior arrests was freed without bail Friday, according to reports.  Geniece Draper, 40, was let go after her arraignment in a Manhattan courtroom, the New York Post reported. She is accused of pickpocketing a wallet from a man last week as he remained under a truck that had crushed him moments earlier.  She is charged with grand and petty larceny for allegedly stealing from 62-year-old Jerome Smith. She was arrested a short time later at a Times Square subway station.

Actor Cuba Gooding Jr.'s criminal record has been wiped clean. After completing the terms of his no-jail plea deal in his Manhattan sex abuse case, the "Jerry Maguire" star had his charge downgraded Thursday to second-degree harassment for kissing a woman against her will at a nightclub in 2018. Prosecutor Coleen Balbert said Thursday Gooding had completed six months of alcohol and behavior modification counseling, allowing him to withdraw his misdemeanor plea and plead guilty to a harassment violation.  Balbert said she has received "positive reports for the last six months" from Gooding’s therapist.

3RD UPDATE: Cuba Gooding Jr. will receive no jail time in his forcible touching case after pleading guilty to a lesser charge today in Manhattan Criminal Court and complying with the terms of a conditional plea agreement reached in April. Gooding replaced his misdemeanor plea with a plea to a noncriminal harassment violation and faces no additional penalties.

EJ Panaligan editor Cuba Gooding Jr. will receive no jail time for his forcible touching case, after it was resolved Thursday in New York City, according to the Associated Press. He previously pleaded guilty to one count of forcible touching in April in a criminal case that placed accusations upon him for violating three different women in Manhattan nightclubs between 2018 and 2019. The actor has complied with the terms of a conditional plea agreement that was reached earlier in the year, with prosecutor Coleen Balbert indicating that Gooding has remained out of trouble and completed six months of alcohol and behavior modification counseling. Fulfilling these terms allowed him to withdraw his misdemeanor plea, and instead plead guilty to a harassment violation. He will not have a criminal record as a result.

Actor Anthony Rapp got emotional in a New York courtroom on Wednesday. An actor who’s accused Kevin Spacey of making a sexual advance on him as a 14-year-old recounted the episode for a New York City jury on Friday, testifying he felt helpless when Spacey climbed on top of him in bed.

Columbia University Irving Medical Center and its affiliate, NewYork-Presbyterian, reached a settlement of over $165 million to be distributed to women who accused former gynecologist Robert Hadden of sexual abuse or misconduct. The agreement was announced on Friday by the two hospitals, which said in a statement that the money would be distributed to 147 of Hadden's former patients. In 2021, both hospitals agreed to make a $71 million compensation fund for 79 people who were patients of Hadden.

Actor Anthony Rapp began testifying today in his sexual misconduct lawsuit against Kevin Spacey, with initial questioning covering only his upbringing in the Chicago suburbs before the court took a lunch recess.

Kevin Spacey claim that Anthony Rapp manufactured sexual misconduct allegations against the Oscar-winning actor because he was jealous of his success and angry about his own stalled career. “He blames Mr. Spacey for everything that hasn’t gone well in his life,” Jennifer L. Keller, an attorney for Spacey said Thursday during opening arguments in the actor’s civil trial. Rapp, Keller added, “peaked around the year 2000 and he grew bitter about not getting parts as an openly gay man.” Spacey was on hand in Manhattan federal court as his lawyers attempted to fight back against Rapp’s $40 million civil lawsuit. Rapp is claiming that Spacey made unwanted sexual advances at him in 1986 when Spacey was 26 and Rapp was 14 years old. Rapp’s legal team made a point of reminding the jury that the actor was only a teenager at the time of the alleged assault, sharing a photograph of him in which he had a comb over haircut, wore glasses and appeared very boyish. They reminded the jurors not to think of Rapp as the 50-year-old actor who was watching the proceedings, but as the boy he once was.
