UFC star who won her first fight with the promotion just six weeks after quitting her job as a stripper has said the career change was "scary".Vanessa Demopoulous made her UFC debut on Saturday night as she beat Silvana Gomez Juarez via a first round submission at UFC 270 in Anaheim.The fight was an early preliminary bout on a card headlined by the heavyweight title bout between Francis Ngannou and Cyril Gane.Following her win, Demopoulos revealed that she had only recently quit her job as a stripper to focus on her career as a mixed martial artist.Having extended her professional MMA record to 7-4 with her win over Gomez Juarez, Demopoulos has since opened up about her career change.Speaking to MMA Fighting, she explained: "I said [I worked as an exotic dancer for] 13 years, but it was longer than that because I started dancing at 18 years old."I’m 33 now, I’ve written two books on the industry, I grew up in the industry, and walking away from it was one of the scariest things I have ever done."It’s just so scary, man, because that was the way I was making money all of these years to fight full-time.
