Kate Aurthur editor The cold open of the Sept. 28 Season 3 premiere of “The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City” featured at the bottom of this post harks back to a more innocent time for the Bravo cast members — before it then reveals how their lives and friendships have exploded during the show’s run. The scene begins in December 2019 with the first confessionals the women filmed for the show’s freshman season, as they introduce themselves, and present their relationships to other cast members. Selome Hailu Somm TV, a streaming service dedicated to food, wine and travel content, has greenlit a second season of competition series “Sparklers.” Joel McHale has joined the series as a celebrity guest judge. “Sparklers,” which received a James Beard Award nomination for its first season, follows contestants as they compete to cook different meals and pair them with sparkling wines. Each episode is divided into two parts: The first features a guest judge while in the second, contestants come together to judge themselves. Among the Season 2 cast is Shakera Jones, who hosts the Somm TV podcast “A Glass For Every Palate” and is the founder of the website BlackGirlsDineToo.

K.J. Yossman Backstreet Boy A.J. McLean is set to host a new reality competition series, “The Fashion Hero: A New King of Beautiful.” The series will see twenty-two diverse contestants compete in a bid to “break traditional standards and define a new kind of beauty.” The contestants will be split into four teams, each guided by a coach and celebrity mentors including “Fit2Fat2Fit” host Drew Manning, former Janet Jackson choreographer and director René Elizondo, rockers Simple Plan, Canadian artist Jordyn Sugar, activist Elle van der Burg and Vogue photographer Adi Barkan.

Quinta Brunson has won her first Emmy Award. The creator, writer, and star of ABC's has made history as the second Black woman to win television's highest award for Outstanding Writing for a Comedy Series. Brunson took the stage and humbly thanked the networks that trusted in her vision to tell this story.
