Livingston have entered into contract negotiations with skipper Nicky Devlin and the club’s all-time record appearance holder Scott Pittman.
Both players are out of contract in the summer but could be set to commit their futures to the Tony Macaroni Arena outfit.
Boss David Martindale said: “We’re confident we’ll get Scott Pittman over the line. It’s more so the wording because the deal will take him past a testimonial.
“Financially there’s nothing to work out but it’s just the red tape of how we go about getting a testimonial and a bit of security.
“It’s alright having a gentleman’s agreement but what if I’m not here or the board aren’t here at that point so it’s ticking it off from a legal perspective.”
He added: “I’m talking to Nicky Devlin as well and there’s another couple who are just really looking at wanting to keep their options open just now.”
