Underworld have released a new single called ‘Denver Luna’ – you can listen to it below.The electronic duo – comprising Karl Hyde and Rick Smith – shared an acapella rendition of the song last month. A statement at the time described the cut as “a departure from their universally recognised sound”.Now, the group have dropped the full eight-minute version of the track along with an official visualiser.Opening with atmospheric synths, ‘Denver Luna’ soon introduces a pounding kick drum as the tune builds with multiple vocal layers and dancing hi-hats.
At one point, the single breaks down into a galloping bass synth line accompanied by distorted coos from Hyde.Tune in here:‘Denver Luna’ is also available on a limited edition coloured 12″ vinyl record via Underworld’s official website. The B-side contains the previously released acapella version as well as an official instrumental.Underworld released their 10th and most recent studio album, ‘Drift Series 1’, back in 2019.
It came as part of a wider project titled ‘Drift’, which saw the band share new music, art and text pieces on a weekly basis over the course of a year.This year, the duo played the two-day London event Junction 2 and made festival appearances at Coachella, Secret Garden Party, Lowlands, Open’er, Cala Mijas and more events.Additionally, Underworld performed as part of the Teenage Cancer Trust’s 2023 gig series at the Royal Albert Hall in London where they showcased ‘Denver Luna’ along with some other unreleased tracks.The group are scheduled to embark on a four-night residency at the Gashouder venue in Amsterdam next March. Heartworms has shared her dark new single ‘May I Comply’ – listen to it below.The new track is the first release from Heartworms since March EP ‘A Comforting Notion’, which NME said in a five-star review was “brimming with all the promise of the next great cult act”.‘May I Comply’ arrives with an accompanying monochrome music video by Gilbert Trejo, who also directed Heartworms’ previous video ‘24 Hours’.“When I wrote this track I just wanted to get over an ex and to tell my little brother he’s good enough… turned out to be a lot darker than I thought,” Heartworms, real name Jojo Orme, shared in a press statement.Check out ‘May I Comply’ below.Gilbert Trejo added: “For ‘May I Comply’ Jojo and I wanted to lean harder into the stark black and white world that Heartworms is building, washing everything but the band out in a sea of emptiness. Tame Impala‘s Kevin Parker is a producer on Dua Lipa‘s new single ‘Houdini’, which is out this week.The ‘Dance The Night’ singer’s new single arrives on Thursday (November 9), which she’ll celebrate by holding three special “surprise launch events” across the globe later this month.As revealed in the credits of a teaser snippet shared to Lipa’s YouTube channel, the Tame Impala multi-instrumentalist played an important role in the production of the new track. Along with serving as producer and composer, he also lends instrumentals on bass guitar as well as backing vocals.Lipa has long expressed her admiration of Parker, sharing back in 2018 that her he was her dream-collaborator.It now looks more likely that Parker may have contributed to the rest of the currently unannounced new album, which she said would be out in 2024.Alongside this news, a New York Times Magazine appeared to suggest that Parker worked on the album.

These numbers, when translated to their equivalent letters, can be re-arranged to form the name Houdini.Today (October 31) also marks the anniversary of the day that the famous magician and escapologist died in 1926.The abstract references to Houdini appear to continue, with Lipa being shown with a golden key necklace resting in her mouth.
