Eminem reignites Benzino feud on new song ‘Doomsday Pt 2’

Eminem has taken aim at Benzino with a new diss track, ‘Doomsday Pt 2’.The track reignites the feud Eminem had with the former publisher of The Source magazine and occasional rapper in the mid-2000s and sees him mock Benzino’s financial status and physical appearance.Over a sample of the rap legend’s classic hit ‘Role Model’, he raps: “Now I got a riddle, one condition, you mustn’t laugh/ What is the opposite of Benzino? A giraffe/ ‘Go at his neck,’ how the fuck is that?/ How can I go at somethin’ he doesn’t have?He continued: “Arm so short he can’t even touch his hands/ When they’re up above his head doin’ jumpin’ jacks/ Sorry, I don’t mean to upset you, Ben/ When I talk about all the debt you in/ I hear that you been creepin’ on the low/ In them cheap hotels, that they catch you in.”Em also took shots at Benzino’s daughter, rapper Coi Leray: “Well, I guess then I regret to inform you, hate to spoil the day/ But this doesn’t bring me no joy to say/ Guess that Coi Leray feat is in the toilet, ay?”‘Doomsday Pt 2’ is the first shot Eminem has taken at Benzino since the height of their feud in 2003, when Benzino released a diss track aimed at him. The Source then released an early demo tape from Eminem recorded in the 1990s in which he used a racial slur.

Declan McKenna has released ‘Mulholland’s Dinner and Wine’, the latest single from his upcoming third album – check out the track below. It is the latest song to be released ahead of the singer-songwriter’s third studio album ‘What Happened To The Beach?’, which is due for release on February 9 via his own label Tomplicated Records (pre-order/pre-save here). The track is a sunkissed, light psychedelic romp that features warped, watery guitar lines and McKenna singing, “I got a boring apartment, and all of the drugs / I’m fucking dangerous, I get what I want”.Speaking about the song, McKenna said: “’Mulholland’s Dinner and Wine’ was written with Gianluca Buccellati as a kind of weird, warped story about a cartoon-y criminal duo, and the origins of the title come from an off-licence in the UK, but it became entangled with Mulholland drive in LA. The lyrics came from observations driving around the hills there and conversations at strange, hip parties.”McKenna had previously shared the single ‘Elevator Hum’ in December, as well as ‘Nothing Works’ and ‘Sympathy’ prior to that.Speaking about the new album, which follows on from 2020’s ‘Zeros’, McKenna has explained: “In the past few years there has been a bit of weight behind making music.

The Libertines have shared a dramatic new single from their upcoming album – listen to ‘Shiver’ below. The band will release new album ‘All Quiet On The Eastern Esplanade’ on March 8, and have so far shared the tracks. The release of the album will be preceded by a tour of intimate club gigs across the UK in January and February dubbed The Albion Tour, which the band have described as a return to “[their] roots in these small sweaty clubs, where [they] can see the whites of the crowds eyes”.After debuting a number of tracks at a sweaty Margate gig last month, they have now shared ‘Shiver’, of which Carl Bârat said: “Peter had a song and I had a song and we mashed them up and did it collaboratively.”Pete Doherty added: “I would probably find it difficult to work out who did what because we were both there the whole time through its creation. It should really be called ‘The Last Dream Of Every Dying Soldier’, but everyone liked the title ‘Shiver’.”In an NME interview from last year, Doherty spoke of how ‘Shiver’ references the band watching the funeral of Queen Elizabeth while recording the album in Jamaica.“It was really strange,” he said.

Listen to Sam Fender’s soulful new song ‘Iris’

Sam Fender has shared his soulful new song ‘Iris’, taken from the soundtrack to the new film Jackdaw. The track was debuted on Edith Bowman’s BBC Radio 2 Culture Club show yesterday (Tuesday January 9), and can be heard here from around the 38 minute mark, or below. The first new material from Fender following on his 2021 second album ‘Seventeen Going Under‘ – named as NME‘s Album Of The Year – was described by Bowman as “absolute perfection” in how it accompanies a touching scene in Jackdaw, which is set in Fender’s native North East of the UK.“He’s been away doing what he does and writing new things, and what’s absolutely wonderful is that he’s been incredibly supportive of fellow creatives – in the form of Jamie Childs the filmmaker, who’s about to release his first feature film,” said Bowman introducing the film.”She continued: “Jamie has worked across some brilliant programmes, directing things like Dr Who, The Sandman, His Dark Materials, and now he’s about to release his first feature film Jackdaw – which is set in the North East of England, which is where Sam is from.“They got in touch with Sam and said, ‘Do you fancy seeing if you’ve got anything around?’ and, lo and behold, Sam gifts them this track exclusively for the film – and it could not be more fitting.”The song leans on Fender’s soulful side, set to a stripped-back guitar backing as the North Shields artist tenderly sings of a woman navigating her way through hard times in the North East.Jackdaw is released in cinemas January 26 following a Stockton-On-Tees premiere on January 24.
