Sheeran previously confessed his intentions to take Taylor Swift to the Suffolk band’s show: “I think she’d really dig The Darkness.” Meanwhile, the band opened for Sheeran on the UK leg of the 2019 ‘Divide Tour’ along with James Bay and Zara Larsson.Now, Sheeran has repaid the favour by performing a surprise opening set for the band’s show at London’s Roundhouse last night (December 9). According to website setlist.fm, Sheeran played six of his megahits, including his mashup of ‘Don’t’ (from 2014 album ‘x‘) and Blackstreet‘s ‘No Diggity’.

Doja Cat has been announced as the closing headliner for Rock In Rio Lisbon 2024.The American pop rapper will head to Portugal on June 15, 16, 22 and 23 next year for the 20th anniversary of the festival. Green Day have shared a new single called ‘Dilemma’ – you can listen to it below.The song is the third preview of the trio’s 14th studio album ‘Saviors’ (out January 19), following on from recent tracks ‘The American Dream Is Killing Me’ and ‘Look Ma, No Brains!’.“‘Dilemma’ was one of those songs that was kind of easy to write because it was so personal to me,” frontman Billie Joe Armstrong explained in a statement.“We’ve seen so many of our peers struggle with addiction and mental illness. This song is all about the pain that comes from those experiences.”The single comes with an accompanying black-and-white video, which finds Armstrong passed out on the ground as he slurs out brutally honest lyrics.

Sean Ono Lennon has shared a psychedelic reworking of the Temples’ song ‘Gamma Rays’ – check it out below.Released on Tuesday (December 5), the track sees the singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist take a new approach to the original Temples’ track, and reimagine it with more of a hazy, psychedelic voicing.The original track featured on Temples’ recent fourth album, ‘Exotico’, which arrived earlier this year, and had a more electronica-infused retro sound.It also follows Lennon’s pre-existing history with the members – working alongside James Bagshaw and co. to produce and record the aforementioned 2023 album, as well as on their single ‘Paraphernalia’, which arrived back in 2020.“Gamma Rays is where the journey began in the studio with Sean, so it felt right to return to the start and allow him free rein to take it from ‘Exotico’ into outer space,” Tom Walmsley of Temples said about Lennon’s new version of the song.The new version of the track also comes accompanied by a mind-bending animated music video, created by Micah Buzan.
