Lisandro Martinez watched Manchester United's Champions League clash at home to Galatasaray in a protective boot as he awaits surgery on a foot injury.
Martinez fractured the fifth metatarsal in his right foot during the Europa League quarter-final first-leg draw at home to Sevilla in April. The Argentina star returned in pre-season and has featured regularly in recent weeks but suffered a recurrence in the 3-1 defeat at Arsenal before the international break.
Having fought through the pain against Brighton and Bayern Munich, Martinez has missed all of United's matches since and Erik ten Hag confirmed earlier this week that the defender would require further surgery. "He has to go through the same process and I’m really sorry for him," the Dutchman told MUTV.

Martinez watched on from his home on Tuesday evening as United welcomed Galatasaray to Old Trafford for the second game of their Champions League group stage. He posted a picture on his Instagram story, which showed his right foot in a boot resting on a cushion.
United are yet to provide an accurate prognosis regarding Martinez's injury, announcing only that he would be out for 'an extended period'. Ten Hag admitted last week that a 'problem' had been flagged with the injured area, forcing him to undergo further treatment.
"We did a proper diagnosis - in Argentina as well - but now it came out that there was a problem and that's very sad for him and the team, because he was not 100 per cent fit," the Reds boss said.
