The MTV Video Music Awards are always a calendar highlight and this year’s ceremony certainly didn’t disappoint.This year’s was led by hosts Nicki Minaj, LL Cool J and Jack Harlow and kicked off with a trip down memory lane as Fergie made a surprise performance. It ended on a high note too when Taylor Swift announced her new album, with a sprinkling of surprises in between as Johnny Depp showed off a rather different side to himself as he tried a new gig.

At The Disco brought a cinematic version of ‘Don’t Let The Light Go Out’ to the MTV VMAs 2022 tonight (August 28).The band performed their recent single to the stage at Newark’s Prudential Center, where the ceremony was held this year.Shot in black-and-white, Panic! At The Disco performed with a vintage car on stage with them, which became a podium for members of the band to perform from during the song.Pyrotechnics and dry ice also filled the performance, while dancers brought a theatrical edge to the epic rendition. The cameras turned to colour as the song hit its final throes and the car’s headlights turned on.

Eminem and Snoop Dogg teamed up for a special “metaverse-inspired” performance at the MTV VMAs 2022 tonight (August 28).The rappers were among a raft of performers at the ceremony, which is being co-hosted by Nicki Minaj, Jack Harlow and LL Cool J at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey.Eminem and Snoop Dogg shared a version of their recent collaboration ‘From The D 2 The LBC’ that saw them mix in-person performance with digital technology. The appearance was organised in partnership with Yuga Labs – an NFT and cryptocurrency company best known for the Bored Apes project – and was inspired by “the world of the Otherside metaverse”.The performance began with the pair sitting on a couch, with Snoop smoking a comedically large joint.

Lizzo brought her latest single ‘2 Be Loved (Am I Ready)’ to the MTV VMAs stage tonight (August 28) – scroll down to watch the performance now.The star was one of the first artists to take to the stage at tonight’s ceremony, which is being held at Newark’s Prudential Center and co-hosted by Jack Harlow, LL Cool J and Nicki Minaj.Lizzo delivered a colourful performance of the single, dressed in a pink outfit and backed by visuals complementing her look.At the end of her performance, the artist was shown giving an excited scream into the microphone, while bouncing around the stage. Taylor Swift was also shown singing and dancing along to the rendition.

Lil Nas X to shake up a red carpet! The  artist brought his A-game to the MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday. The 23-year-old turned heads — and had to balance his — as he walked the black carpet in a stunning feathered ensemble by Harris Reed. The «Scoop» rapper paired his chiseled abs with sleek leather pants that were accented with black feathers. The real star of the show was Nas' head piece that extended inches around his head.

Billie Eilish, Olivia Rodrigo, Rosalía and Ed Sheeran are also in the running for multiple awards.The 2022 awards show will be held at Newark’s Prudential Center and will be co-hosted by Harlow, Nicki Minaj and LL Cool J.
