A grieving mum has paid tribute to her 'baby' son after four young men were convicted of involvement in his death. Kennie Carter was just 16 when he was stabbed to death in Stretford in January 2022.
He was murdered as part of a tit-for-tat feud between young men. Ten went on trial accused of murder. A 16-year-old who stabbed Kennie was convicted of murder. Latif Ferguson, 18, and two 16-year-old boys, known as Boy G and Boy H, were acquitted of murder but found guilty of manslaughter.
Six other young men, including Jabriel Ferguson, 19, of School Walk, Old Trafford, and Rashaun Williams, 18, from Staffordshire, were all found not guilty of murder and manslaughter. The four others, aged from 15 to 17, cannot be named for legal reasons. Sentencing will take place next month.

During the trial at Manchester Crown Court, prosecutors claimed that Kennie was murdered in ‘revenge’ following an incident the day before. Friends of Kennie were said to have been involved in an ‘altercation’ with others associated with the defendants, when a weapon was produced.
After the final verdicts were returned on Wednesday 26 June, Kennie's mum Joan Dixon said: "Kennie brightened up every day with his cheeky smile and his bubbly personality, he was always acting daft, telling jokes and generally being a 16-year-old boy, he had everything to live for. He was our baby, the youngest of our four children, and just starting out in life.
