Amelia Bird was left suffering from more than 30 injuries after being set upon by a group of dogs. The first picture, taken last year, shows Amelia, who was six at the time, lying in hospital.
The second snap of Amelia, who is now seven, shows the youngster with a beaming smile - showing her extraordinary bravery and resilience.
Amelia's mum, Jade, who thought her daughter was dead when she found her lying face down in the street, said: "The doctors said they had never come across anyone else with dog bites so severe.

"Even after surgery she's got scars across her eye, her eyelid, which we call the rainbow, and scars along her tummy, her back, bum, legs and arms. She will have these for the rest of her life."
Manchester Evening News reports that, highlighting her daughter's ongoing mental distress, Jade said: "She's suffering mentally. She will always suffer mentally as a result of this.
"She has got worse when it comes to dogs, and being around dogs." The Mirror reports Jade, 33, and husband Lee, 36, moved with Amelia and sister Lara, 10, to a new neighbourhood in Greater Manchester.
They made the move when Jade was expecting their third daughter, Bonnie. They thought it was the perfect area to raise a family.
