Hibs history maker Lewis Stevenson has penned a new deal at Easter Road - and revealed his dream to play out his career at Easter Road.
The 35-year-old became the club’s all time record league appearance holder this season and currently sits fourth on the list across all competitions behind legends Gordon Smith, Arthur Duncan and Pat Stanton. Now he’s signed on for another year in Leith after scoring the goal that secured their Premiership top six finish against St Johnstone a fortnight ago.
Stevenson - the only Hibs player to have lifted both the League Cup and Scottish Cup - has made 572 appearances for the club since his debut in 2005. And he said: “Everyone knows how much Hibs means to me and I’d like to play here for the rest of my career.
“I feel pretty good, there are little things I can’t do that I did 10 years ago, but I still feel good physically, and feel like I can help the team both on and off the pitch. I never imagined I’d go on to make as many appearances for Hibs as I have, but I want to keep working hard, playing, and have more success here.”
Boss Lee Johnson added: “In this modern day and age, it’s not often you have a player that shows the kind of loyalty Lewy has to Hibs. He has rightly written his name into the club’s history books and I think everyone can see that he’s still going strong.
“He’s really humble, a fantastic human-being, and is exactly the type of person we want at this club. So we’re delighted that he will stay with us for another year.”

Striking film and television writers got a signal boost on Thursday from U.S. Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand (d-NY), who spoke at a rally outside the East Coast offices of Paramount Global in the busy heart of Manhattan’s Times Square.
Jennifer Maas TV Business Writer Colin Farrell, Mariska Hargitay, Danny Strong, Paula Pell, Rachel Dratch, Michael Kelly and Craig Zobel were among the stars who came out to the writers strike picket line outside Paramount Global’s New York City office in Times Square Thursday. Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand, D.-N.Y., and local politicians spoke at the event in support of the Writers Guild of America’s (WGA) cause against the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers (AMPTP) that has led to a four-week-and-counting work stoppage due to the organizations’ inability to ink a new contract May 1. “This is about what’s right. We’ve seen income inequality grow exponentially over the last decade; and in your business, it has never been more present,” Gillibrand said to the crowd, filled with not only WGA members, but also those from SAG-AFTRA, IATSE and Teamsters, among other unions. “We see writers working hard every day to produce content and we have an unfair playing field. Not only does AI want to displace our writers, they simply can’t. AI generates content based on what’s been written before the work you did last year, and the year before. It’s not original. It’s not imaginative. It doesn’t come from the human heart. It’s not about a human experience. It’s not about what people actually want to learn about or know about or see or experience. That is what writers bring to the equation every single time. So this strike is so important for the future of this country. It’s about the value of workers; workers and what they create is fundamentally valuable.”

The Foo Fighters had a literal motley crew of cameos in their livestream, "Foo Fighters: Preparing Music for Concerts," before announcing a new addition to the band: drummer Josh Freese. In the wake of the tragic passing of Taylor Hawkins last March, the band enlisted the help of other famous drummers, including Red Hot Chili Peppers’ Chad Smith, Mötley Crüe’s Tommy Lee and Tool’s Danny Carey, to tease the ultimate arrival of Freese. Each musician was welcomed into the studio by the band, only to deliver a funny remark like, "There's a white Mercedes blocking me," "I got the P.F. Chang's" and "I groomed your poodles for you." With multiple interruptions, an agitated voice off camera can be heard yelling, "Excuse me," before cutting to Freese behind the drums.
