Scots singer Lewis Capaldi teased fans with a reaction to his "new single" on social media on Wednesday.
Taking to TikTok, the Someone You Loved singer shared a video which supposedly captured a reaction to a new single from his latest album. This could be the first sign of Capaldi's second album, and his first since 2019 when he released the chart topping Divinely Uninspired to a Hellish Extent.
The caption for the video stated: "Can't believe I left my phone on record by accident and managed to catch this moment!! Hearing my NEW SONG for the first time."
Capaldi, speaking with his manager, asked: "So this is the master for my first single?"
A man responded: "Yeah this is the finished one. So give it a listen and make sure you're happy with it."
Looking nervous, Capaldi sighs deeply as he hits play on his computer, leaning back and covering his mouth with his hands in anticipation. However, instead of the ballads fans love from the Scottish crooner, a very different sound fills the screen.
While a soulful piano begins to play, it is quickly accompanied by over the top fart noises, a man sobbing and babies screaming - all while Capaldi smiles on proudly.
But fans seemed less than disappointed with the new sound, with Emily commenting below the video: "Firstly, I love your sound." To which Capaldi replied: "It's my heart and soul."
Others found themselves caught out, with Amy writing: "Why did I actually think you'd seriously let us listen to some of it?!" While Jonathon joked: "The wind section slaps hard."
