Is Three Lions arrogant? It's been a debate among readers after the FA has quashed rumours yesterday (May 5) claiming that the song was in danger of being dropped from England games.
Reports initially surfaced claiming that the hit by David Baddiel, Frank Skinner and the Lightning Seeds could be withdrawn due to concerns over reactions from other nations.
But the FA has since put this claim to bed, saying in a statement: "The FA still plays Three Lions at major Wembley matches and has never had any intention of doing otherwise."

One reader has commented on the debate, saying: " Can it really be viewed as arrogant? We have been singing its coming home for 26 years now and it still hasn't come home.
"Surely it makes other countries laugh? Although this year it is definitely coming home."
Others were quick to point out the slightly outdated lyrics, with one person saying: "What offends me is the historical inaccuracy of singing 'thirty years of hurt' when it's now fifty-six."
Another reader added: "There's only so many times they can keep adding to the years of hurt"
Some weren't enthusiastic about the song, with one reader saying: "It's embarrassing, years of underachieving. Make it Vindaloo instead!"
Someone else added: " I feel embarrassed every time I hear it. What sort of person feels ‘30 years of hurt’ about a football game?"
Unfortunately, years of hurt is what following a football team is all about.
Do you think Three Lions is arrogant? Or do you feel it's self deprecating? Let us know in the comments section.
