Aaron and Bryce Dessner of The National, have announced details of their self-titled debut album and shared its lead single.‘Complete Mountain Almanac’ was formed after Karijord set out to make an album “about climate change in 12 suites, representing the 12 months of the year,” and approached her friend of 15 years, Jessica – who works as a poet, dancer and multimedia artist based in Italy – to contribute “poetic and lyrical” elements to the project.The band and album’s title came from a book of poetry written by Jessica in the wake of her breast cancer diagnosis, as well as coming to reflect the environmental themes on the record. King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard have shared ‘Hate Dancin”, the lead single from their 23rd studio album (and third this month) ‘Changes’.The song follows on from the release of their album ‘Ice, Death, Planets, Lungs, Mushrooms and Lava’ on October 7, and its follow-up ‘Laminated Denim’ just five days later on October 12.In a press statement about the song, frontman Stu Mackenzie offered a succinct, one-sentence description: “I started writing a song about how I hate dancing, but then I realised that I love dancing.” To Mackenzie’s point, the music video for ‘Hate Dancin” depicts him and his bandmates dancing to the song in a warehouse.It was directed by John Angus Stewart, who has worked on several videos and concert films for the band across their career. Watch the video below:‘Changes’ is set to arrive on October 28 and is a seven-track album, with each song title’s first letter acrostically spelling out the titular word.

Taylor Swift has announced details of the first single from her upcoming album ‘Midnights’, and shared some of its lyrics on billboards.The singer will release her 10th album on Friday (October 21), and has already confirmed an interview on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon the following Monday (October 24).In a social media post, the singer has now confirmed a host of other events happening in the week around the album’s release, including the release of an official video for the single ‘Anti-Hero’ at 8am EST (1pm BST) on album release day.Swift declared the track ‘Anti-Hero’ to be “one of my favourite songs I’ve ever written”, and noted of its significance: “I really don’t think I’ve delved this far into my insecurities in this detail before.”On Thursday (October 20), a teaser trailer will be shown in the third quarter of Thursday Night Football on Amazon Prime Video, while a “special very chaotic surprise” is also set to take place at 3am EST (8am BST) on Friday. Blink-182 have returned with their first song to feature Tom DeLonge in just months shy of a decade: a belting pop-punk anthem titled ‘Edging’.Despite its title (and the returning frontman’s penchant for tongue-in-cheek raciness) the song is surprisingly void of sex jokes, instead offering a self-deprecative take on the dissolution of a relationship. It opens with DeLonge singing the first verse, as he quips: “I ain’t that cool, a little fucked in the head / They’ll be hangin’ me quick when I’m back from the dead.”A music video for ‘Edging’, directed by Cole Bennett, is due to be released tomorrow (October 15).

Dry Cleaning have shared a new single titled ‘No Decent Shoes For Rain’, the fourth to be lifted from their forthcoming album ‘Stumpwork’ ahead of its arrival later this month.“‘No Decent Shoes For Rain’ is inspired by grief,” frontwoman Florence Shaw says of the song; a comparatively moody slow-burner following last month’s ‘Gary Ashby’. “Grief over past relationships, grief for loved ones who have died, and all the things that come with that; loneliness, numbness, yearning, ruminating about the past.”The new song arrives alongside a video which compiles footage of the band in the studio and on tour.

Blur drummer Dave Rowntree has shared a new video for his recent single ‘Devil’s Island’.Rowntree shared the track last month along with details of his forthcoming debut solo LP ‘Radio Songs’.Speaking about the clip, which was directed by Guy Gotto, he said: ““I was keen to work with Guy Gotto, who makes gorgeous and interesting video art. Stevie Nicks has featured on a new collaborative song to raise money for the Ukraine relief effort.The song, ‘Face To Face’, is part of the ‘Collaborate For Peace’ project from Eurythmics‘ Dave Stewart, Russian musician Boris Grebenshchikov and Ukrainian Serhii Babkin. All proceeds will go to the Global United24 initiative from the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy.Nicks said in a statement: “Since the day the war began, I have carried Ukraine and its people in my heart.
