From the election of President Obama to the announcement of the Covid-19 pandemic and even Take That splitting up – all belong to a part of psychology where personal memories of significant events are somehow imprinted in our brains in a different way to everyday ones.

The Rolling Stones says using AI in music is like “toy town”

The Rolling Stones guitarist Keith Richards has discussed the role that AI plays in music, claiming it to be part of “toy town”.Appearing as a special guest on the first episode of Sidetracked with Annie [Mac] and Nick [Grimshaw], Richards shared his thoughts on AI, authenticity in music and the role of vinyl.“If you really want to listen to a record properly… I mean digital is toy town,” he said. “Synthesizers, not you have AI, which is even more superficial… But AI is like anything else. Nirvana biographer claims Kurt Cobain was “jealous” of Dave Grohl

Nirvana biographer Michael Azerrad has claimed that Kurt Cobain was “jealous” of his bandmate Dave Grohl. The author recently appeared on the Rolling Stone Music Now podcast to talk about an expanded version of his 1993 book about the band, Come As You Are: The Story Of Nirvana. In the original release, Cobain described a guitar part written by Grohl on ‘In Utero’ track ‘Scentless Apprentice’ as “boneheaded”.When asked about the quote on the podcast, Azerrad responded (via Loudwire): “I thought that was a little condescending, frankly.”Elsewhere in the Come As You Are book, Cobain is quoted as calling Grohl “the most well-adjusted boy in the whole world”. The writer claimed that the late frontman was jealous of the drummer who would go on to form Foo Fighters because of this.“I think Kurt partly was mocking Dave for being fairly together and normal,” Azerrad explained.

Nirvana’s ‘In Utero’ cellist remembers being “insulted” by Courtney Love

Nirvana‘s ‘In Utero’ has recalled being “insulted” by Courtney Love in a book.Kera Schaley plays cello on the songs ‘All Apologies’ and B-side ‘Marigold’ on the Seattle trio’s 1993 album, and has rarely spoken about her appearance. To celebrate the album’s 30th anniversary though, she appeared on the Rolling Stone Music Now podcast to discuss her experience in the studio, and a run-in with Love.Revealing that she hasn’t spoken to any Nirvana member since she appeared on the album, Schaley said: “The only thing I heard, and this is embarrassing, but I am insulted by Courtney Love in that Come As You Are book.”In the book by Michael Azzerad, ‘In Utero’ producer Steve Albini – the then-girlfriend of Schaley – reportedly labelled Love a “psycho hose beast,” to which she responded: “The only way Steve Albini would think I was a perfect girlfriend, would be if I was from the East Coast, played the cello, had small hoop earrings, wore black turtlenecks, had all matching luggage, and never said a word.”Schaley said: “She doesn’t say my name, but she makes all these references, and all my friends like are sending me this thing going, look at what she said about me. And I was like, that’s pretty catty for a so-called feminist.“So I sent her a joke letter, teasing her about it, and she called me in the middle of the night one time, and I honestly was half asleep, but her way of apologising was saying, “I’m sorry you thought I was talking about you.””Next month, Nirvana will release a 30th anniversary reissue of ‘In Utero’.

Zodiac matches revealed: Here’s the sign you should be with

Yehudi Menuhin writes, “Music creates order out of chaos: for rhythm imposes unanimity upon the divergent, melody imposes continuity upon the disjointed, and harmony imposes compatibility upon the incongruous.”So too does love and a fortunate congregation of stars create a kind of rhythm in relationships. In truth, zodiac compatibility is a constellation of qualities and challenges, elemental energy, and ancestral trauma. It is a willingness to apologize and to unload the dishwasher, taking into account the whole of the birth chart, aspects formed, and houses occupied.Within the birth chart, the placement of the moon, which serves as our emotional touchstone, Mars, the planet of sex and aggression, and Venus, the planet of love and attachment, help divine whether a relationship is rock steady or destined for certain ruin. In my experience, anything can happen, anything can work and any manner of star soup between lovers can yield order out of chaos and harmony from cacophony.
