The sentence, handed down by the ruling Republic Court of the Islamic Republic, overturns a decree from the higher Supreme Court which, according to the New York Times, found issues with the original ruling that sentenced Salehi to six years imprisonment and banned him from making music or singing for two years. The reason given for Salehi’s execution, which the Islamic Republic administers by hanging, is his involvement with Iran’s 2022 protests through his music.

Christopher Nolan’s Interstellar will be re-released in cinemas later this year in honour of the film’s 10th anniversary.The film, starring Matthew McConaughey, Anne Hathaway, Jessica Chastain and Matt Damon is set in a dystopian future and sees a group of astronauts travelling into outer space to find a new planet for humans to colonise.Paramount Pictures announced the re-release during its presentation to cinema owners and executives at CinemaCon in Las Vegas this week.Interstellar will arrive in cinemas on September 27 and will be shown in 70mm IMAX prints, as well as on digital screens.Nolan filmed Interstellar with a combination of 35mm anamorphic film and 65mm IMAX. More than one million people over State Pension age living in Scotland will be able to claim two new devolved benefits starting before the end of this year. Pension Age Winter Heating Payment (PAWHP) will be worth up to £300 per household and is set to replace the annual Winter Fuel Payment, currently delivered by the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP).

Social Security Scotland has confirmed thousands of people claiming Carer’s Allowance will receive two one-off payments for £288.60 - totalling £577.20 - before the end of this year. Carer’s Allowance Supplement is an automatic payment made in June and December by the Scottish Government to recognise the important contribution made by unpaid carers.
