Kelsey Parker admits she 'didn't think' husband Tom would die from cancer

Kelsey Parker has admitted that, despite knowing husband Tom Parker was terminally ill, she never truly believed he would die. The late Wanted singer died at the age of just 33 in March 2022 after being diagnosed with a brain tumour in October 2020. Kelsey and Tom, who had been together for 12 years when Tom died, were married in 2018 and had two children in 2019 and 2020.
Since Tom’s diagnosis and death, Kelsey has continually raised awareness for cancer treatment and has been open and honest about her grief. On Friday morning’s Loose Women, she opened up about how she felt in the months before Tom died, saying she never truly believed he would go. ‘At first, I knew he was [terminally] ill, but I didn’t think he was going to die.
When he did die, that first six to eight months, I was in complete shock. ’She continued: ‘I was all “Go go go!” I was working, I was doing this and that. But I think I was just masking the fact that I was in shock that it had happened to us.
’Tom, who scored two number ones with The Wanted, had initially made an improvement after early treatments, reporting that his tumour was stable. He performed with The Wanted in concert to raise money for Stand Up to Cancer and released Channel 4 documentary Inside My Head. Sadly, his condition deteriorated in early 2022 and he died on March 30, 2022.
Since then, Kelsey says she still feels Tom around her and wants to celebrate his life. ‘I still feel Tom all the time. There was one character left when I was playing Guess Who with my daughter and his name was Tom,’ she explained.
