Kate Garraway's heartbreaking final days with Derek Draper revealed in new ITV documentary

Kate Garraway feels the time is right to share the final chapter of her late husband Derek Draper's life. A new ITV documentary is set to air later this month detailing his last weeks.
The documentary called Kate Garraway: Derek’s Story is reported to document Derek's final years and be a tribute to his life. an ITV insider described the film as "very moving," according to the Mirror which is set to air on March 26.
Derek Draper sadly died aged 56 earlier this year in January following Covid complications from when he first contracted the virus back in March 2020. He spent a total of 13 months in hospital after suffering multiple organ failures.
Good Morning Britain host Kate held his hand "throughout the last long hours" in hospital. Derek's battle against his ill-health has been documented previously in two award-winning films made by Flicker Productions - Finding Derek and Caring for Derek.
The new ITV documentary announced will mark the third and final part of Derek's story and Kate's dedication to her husband until the end. It's expected their two children Darcey, 18, and son Billy, 14, could also feature having been in the previous films.
Kate returned to work at GMB shortly after the death of her husband earlier this year, with the widow explaining it kept her mind busy. She said: “We are not equipped for loss. No one is equipped for it. Nobody wants to be able to face it but we are all going to come against it at some point in our lives.
