Kate Garraway supported over 'wish' message as she shares 'one regret' over Derek Draper's death in documentary

Kate Garraway has been flooded with messages after sharing her 'wish' amid her 'heartbreaking' documentary airing. The presenter was on screens on Tuesday night (March 26) with her latest film, Derek's Story, which chronicled the last year of her husband's life.
Kate announced on January 5 that her husband and father of her two children - Darcey and Billy - had sadly passed away, almost four years after the former Labour lobbyist-turned-psychotherapist became ill with Covid at the start of the pandemic in March 2020 before spending a year in hospital
Their third documentary, which follows Finding Derek and Caring for Derek, granted close access to Derek and his wife and also provides an insight into his personal struggles with illness and highlights the challenges faced by millions of people in the UK living with serious illness and disability and those who care for them.

In the documentary, which featured Derek's voice for the first time since his ill health, Kate said she wants her late husband’s legacy to be fighting for change in a care system which feels like it is “there to catch you out” when it should be there to “catch you when you fall”.
After his tragic death, asked on the documentary if she had any regrets, the Good Morning Britain star said: “I think if I have any regret it’s every single minute that I didn’t spend holding his hand because I had to go and write an email, I had to go and make a phone call.
