On Friday's instalment of Good Morning Britain, Labour MP and Shadow Science Secretary Peter Kyle made a live gaffe when he incorrectly referred to Kate Garraway by the wrong name.
In the midst of discussing Labour leader Keir Starmer's pledges on taking Prime Ministerial office, he said: "Our first mission, as you have seen yesterday, and our first step will be to get economic stability and growth into the economy when we get that growth.."
Kate cut in, noting: "That's what the Conservatives are saying as well," which prompted the Labour MP's response: "Look Susan I just wish once..." Quick to rectify, co-host Rob Rinder pointed out: "It's Kate. Sorry just to be clear, it's Kate sitting next to me."
The blunder clearly embarrassed the Labour politician, who promptly apologised while a playful Kate urged him to focus on getting other matters right beyond her name. Prefaced with a sheepish "Please forgive me Kate," the shadow science secretary proceeded with his responses.
Richard Arnold, the show's entertainment correspondent, couldn't resist making light of the slip-up post-interview. Introducing himself, Richard mischievously swapped host names around, calling host Rob 'Rylan', and jokingly referring to himself as Ben Shephard.
