A jury will hear the inquest of a mother who was stabbed to death by her ex-partner. Daniel Patten, 31, killed Regan Tierney at her home in Salford before taking his own life.
Miss Tierney, 27, was found with fatal stab wounds by her father at the property on Manchester Road in Walkden on June 5, 2019. Mr Patten was later found by police having hanged himself in the garage.
An inquest into Mr Patten's death held on Monday concluded that he had taken his own life. A full inquest into the death of the mum-of-two has not yet taken place. Police have previously confirmed they are not looking for anyone else in connection with Miss Tierney's murder.

Article two inquests are enhanced hearings held in cases where the state or it's agents - in this case GMP - are alleged to have failed to protect the deceased against a human threat or other risk or where there has been a death in custody.
"It is my decision that Article Two is engaged so as to require the coroner to conduct a full investigation in relation to Regan's death, Mr Sigee told the court.
The coroner also confirmed that Miss Tierney's inquest will be heard by a jury, who will examine the role of Greater Manchester Police and other agencies in the lead up to her death.
