Ten Hag has always maintained that Maguire is a key part of the United squad. This was evident against Danish champions Copenhagen, where Maguire delivered another solid showing alongside Raphael Varane.
Bellingham commented 'Love to see it' under an Instagram post from Maguire after the win, while Rice told the United defender he was 'buzzing' for him. Both players were also playing in Champions League matches on Tuesday, for Real Madrid and Arsenal respectively, with Bellingham scoring his 11th goal of the season against Braga for Madrid.
United manager Ten Hag praised Maguire after the match, saying: "He's playing much more proactively in possession, stepping in, passing vertically. He's defending on the front foot, defending forward, very confident in the duels, I think he is dominating in the right way with his aggression
