Josie Gibson rushed to hospital struggling to breathe before return to This Morning

Josie Gibson has revealed a secret health battle on her return from the Australian jungle, as she was struck down with "severe tonsillitis and struggled to breathe. The This Morning presenter appeared on Loose Women on Thursday, 21 December, and explained how she was hospitalised in Bath after falling in on the plane journey home from taking part in this year's I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! Chatting to the show's presenters, including Denise Welch and Jane Moore, Josie detailed her struggle last week.
"When I came out, I was on the flight home and I just started to feel really unwell – I was shivering," she explained. "Then when I got back I had severe tonsillitis. I couldn't breathe, so I got taken to hospital." The 38 year old – who was the seventh celebrity to be voted out of the jungle – then thanked medics at the hospital for making her fit enough to return to This Morning earlier this week.
"They put me on a drip and gave me loads of steroids to bring all the swelling down so I could breathe again. It was a bit touch and go whether I could make This Morning. So I just want to thank everybody that works as the RUH in Bath – I would not have been able to do This Morning without them." She had spoken about the hospital dash on Wednesday's edition of the show, but hadn't explained the reason behind the visit.
Josie also hilariously detailed how she had been so looking forward to seeing her five year old son, Reggie, after her jungle stint – yet the youngster had simply shrugged off their reunion. The star is reportedly set to receive a huge raise from ITV bosses in the new year, with a "50 percent pay rise" for her role on This Morning.
