Josie Gibson has shared her thoughts on Ben Shephard and Cat Deeley being the new hosts This Morning.
The duo have been unveiled as the permanent presenters of the ITV show, and will make their debut next month. Josie, 39, is one of the guest presenters on This Morning and regularly fills in for hosts.
She had previously been tipped to take over hosting the show on a permanent basis, following Holly Willoughby's departure. After months of speculation and several different guest hosts fronting This Morning, it was revealed that ITV have chosen Ben, 49, and Cat, 47, as the show's new presenting duo.
The happy news was shared on 16 February.
Commenting on an Instagram video announcing the news, Josie excitedly penned: "I feel a work welcome party coming on!!!!!”. Fellow This Morning host Alison Hammond added: “So excited about this.” Alison, 49, will continue to host This Morning every Friday alongside co-star Dermot O'Leary, 50.
Ben and Cat will front the show Monday through until Thursday from March. Expressing his joy to be joining the This Morning presenting team on a regular basis, GMB regular Ben said: “This really feels like a very special moment for Cat and I to be part of the next chapter of This Morning.
It’s an honour to be trusted with the reigns, join Alison and Dermot and all the team that work on and off screen and do such a great job." He added: “For the last ten years I’ve been waking up with our ITV daytime audience on GMB and I now look forward to spending time with Cat, welcoming the viewers home after the school run or from their early morning routines, with a cup of tea and a mix of everything that makes This Morning so loved.” Meanwhile, Cat added: “This Morning is a national institution.
