Jill Dando was killed in a “professional hit”, a former career criminal claims.
Noel “Razor” Smith, 37, an armed robber-turned-writer, is interviewed in a three-part Netflix series about the 1999 murder of the much-loved BBC Crimewatch host after he was serving time in HMP Belmarsh alongside Barry George, reports the Daily Mirror.
George was wrongly convicted of the 37-year-old television presenter's murder in 2001, and arrived in jail after being charged. However, he was unanimously acquitted seven years later, at a 2008 retrial.
Asked if he had any clues on who really was behind the death, Smith says: “I don’t really want to talk about that for my own safety. But there are rumours in the criminal world, let’s put it that way. It’s not who you would think and it’s not Barry George. It was a professional hit.”
Asked if he could give any insight into why Dando was shot, he immediately shook his head and said: “No. If I tell you why - you’d know who did it.”
George was jailed and given a life sentence, largely because of a particle of gunshot residue found inside one of his jacket pockets.
It was so small that it was not admissible at his retrial. He had lived close to Dando in Fulham, West London, who was shot on her doorstep.
George, now 63, has Asperger’s, brain damage, ADHD, learning difficulties and epilepsy, and was interviewed in Ireland, where he has since moved.
Asked, did you kill Jill Dando?, he replies: “Simply no. It makes me angry they’ve taken eight years of my life. They’ve basically persecuted me.”
The senior investigating officer at the time, Hamish Campbell, says in the documentary that he stands by George being the killer.
“Do I think he should have been found not guilty?” Hamish says. “I thought the guilty

Both men were looking down at the dirt floor, and as I walked toward them, Tarantino announced that we were all going home.”Washington went on: “The scene would be cut from the script.

Director, Producer, and Co-Writer (with Chris Weitz) Gareth Edwards (Monsters, Godzilla, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story) has been working on his idea for an original science fiction tale involving human interaction with advanced AI childfor many years. Now that The Creator is finally reaching the screen I would say it is more like science fact, or at least a plausible facsimile. With recent warnings from Silcon Valley leaders about imminent dangers with the alarming speed of AI progress, and all the talk (especially with the guild strikes) about the threat of AI technology invading and possibly even shifting out of our control in frightening ways, Edwards has cooked up a hell of a story in which AI just might be the good guys – or robots as it were – in a world where humans could be losing the upper hand.
