Talk show host Jeremy Kyle and his wife Victoria have opened up about suffering their second devastating miscarriage before falling pregnant with their longed-for-second child.
The 58-year-old presenter shared the happy news this week that he is now expecting his sixth child, having already welcomed four kids from his previous relationships, as he joked that he is catching up with ex-PM Boris Johnson.
The couple's whirlwind journey to expand their family has been an “emotional rollercoaster” after they tragically lost a baby in March. Victoria and Jeremy also previously lost a baby at nine weeks before conceiving Oliver, now three, in 2019, the Mirror reports.
Speaking of their loss for the first time, Vic, 40, revealed how she was eight weeks' pregnant when doctors delivered the heartbreaking news that they couldn't find their baby's heartbeat during an early scan.
Vic, who tied the knot with Jeremy in 2021, said: “It was devastating. People say, ‘It’s so early, it’s just a bunch of cells’, but as a woman you can’t help but get attached to what’s going on in your body.”
They endured further upset when Vic was booked in for a procedure to remove the foetus but they were told there was a heartbeat after all. After a painful week's wait, doctors finally confirmed that the pregnancy wasn't viable.
Jeremy, who survived testicular cancer in 2013, said: “The second miscarriage was the hardest for Vic. Because we’d had one before, we tried not to get excited. It was an emotional rollercoaster.”
After going through the trauma for a second time, the couple gave up on trying again for a child, and relocated from London to the coast for a fresh start.
