Janey Godley has been flooded with support from her online followers on social media after she gave another update on her health amid her battle with terminal cancer on Sunday admitting there is a "scary" wait ahead of her.
The 62-year-old comedian was diagnosed with stage three ovarian cancer in November 2021 before being given the all-clear after treatment, but it returned this year. She has since kept her fans updated on her progress in candid accounts of her health.
Janey previously vowed that she would "keep going til I can't" and has been busy dedicating herself to work, with a BBC Radio 4 podcast called 'The C bomb' and more tour dates down south set for 2024.
Penning a post for her loyal fleet of 290k followers on Twitter, now known as X, she said: "Tomorrow I expect to get the latest cancer scan results which will determine how I live for the next six months - am I scared? Yes - but I can’t change the outcome.
"If you came here to shout about me supporting trans people, I hope you have a good day - I’m trying my best."
And followers soon rushed to the post to share their support, as one fan wrote: "Dear Janey my thoughts and supportive prayers are surrounding you as you wait for answers Supportive hugs to you and your family (including little Honey) xxxx."
Another said: "I know you probably don’t feel it but you look lovely. My husband has Multiple Myeloma and when people say he looks really well, he always says no one knows how rough you feel on the inside. Take care and good luck for tomorrow xx."
"Fingers crossed for good results. Hope you get through today okay x," chimed another fan as a fourth said: "The very best of luck xxx you’re one of the bravest women on this Planet X keep fighting the good fight."
