David Beckham has reportedly messaged under-fire Manchester United defender Harry Maguire to show his support, after the latter was brutally mocked during the season's first international break.
Maguire - who lost his place in the United team last season and was removed as captain this summer - made two appearances for England last week. The 30-year-old generally fared well and was unfortunate to turn into his own net during a 3-1 victory over neighbours Scotland at Hampden Park.
Goals from Phil Foden, Jude Bellingham and former United target Harry Kane settled the scores for England in that 150th year Heritage match. However, it was Maguire who took centre stage during and post-game.

Maguire was ironically cheered by Scotland's fans as he entered the field as a half-time substitute and at various stages when he was in possession. The centre-back then scored the own goal in the 67th minute to offer Scotland hope, but it was the Three Lions who ultimately savoured victory north of the border.
After the final whistle, England manager Gareth Southgate defended Maguire as ex-players, pundits and even his family members followed suit. His mother, Zoe, led the way in that respect via Instagram.
