Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea has been labelled as 'not good enough' for Erik ten Hag's side by former Liverpool player and Sky Sports pundit Jamie Carragher.
De Gea had a calamitous time in goal against Brentford during the 4-0 defeat and was on the receiving end of a wave of criticism following the match. The MEN gave the Spaniard a 1/10 player rating for the defeat that saw the goalkeeper let the ball pass under him for United's first goal, before then needlessly passing the ball to an under-pressure Christian Eriksen to allow Brentford to score their second with just 18 minutes gone.
The humiliating result has shown Ten Hag the reality that faces him as he looks to turn the club's fortunes around. The style of play that he is looking to bring to the club clearly still needs time to develop as the players look to get to grips with the Dutchman's demanding philosophy.

Carragher discussed the woeful start to United's season alongside former Red Gary Neville as the pair looked to work out exactly what went wrong during the defeats to Brighton and Brentford. The former Liverpool man picked out De Gea as one of the players who does not suit Ten Hag's style of play.
Speaking on Sky Sports, Carragher said: "I go back to how important Ten Hag sees his goalkeeper, on the ball. For him, he thinks he has a back three and the goalkeeper is a player. But the problem is, this goalkeeper is not good enough on the ball, yet.
