Jamie Carragher predicts Erling Haaland’s career progression will take a different path to that of Harry Kane's. The Norway sensation has already reached double figures for the campaign after his goal in Manchester City’s 1-1 draw with Aston Villa on Saturday. Many are predicting him to go on to be a Premier League great.
Kane has already reached that status and is closing in on the all-time scoring record. The Tottenham striker has had to adapt his game over the years, dropping deeper to spread the ball before running on to fire home.
Some believe Haaland may end up beating Kane’s final goal tally if he stays in England for long enough. With comparisons between the two already being made, Carragher pointed out that Haaland’s development is likely to be different to that Kane has experienced.

Speaking during commentary of City’s draw with Villa, he said: “Harry Kane’s development has just come naturally for him, maybe he didn’t have this energy and pace in behind to hurt players.
“Players only come short when they can’t get behind defences, that’s certainly not going to be the case for the next 10 years with Haaland.” Hailing Haaland, he added: "I think we are going to be seeing something special over the next few years for Man City.
“A lot of his goals have been goals that most strikers would score but some of them have been devastating when you see that power and pace in behind.” He concluded: “We’re going to talk about him a lot over the years.”
