James Corden, 45, co-creator and star of the much-loved BBC Three sitcom alongside Ruth Jones, 57, is set to reprise his role as Smithy for the show's final festive hurrah, and he's confessed that the timeline is seriously snug.
Chatting on Radio 2's Zoe Ball Breakfast Show on Thursday morning (June 13), he spilled the beans: "We'll be shooting it around September or October time. It's going to be tight to get it in and delivered." Currently treading the boards in London's West End with The Constituent, James likened getting the show on the road to "building a Jenga puzzle", what with juggling the packed diaries of the cast.
He elaborated: "Building that show is like building a Jenga puzzle with cast availabilities and all, things like that, but I think it will be OK." The ex-Late Late Show presenter revealed that the ensemble cast, featuring Ruth (Nessa), Joanna Page (Stacey), Mathew Horne (Gavin), Rob Brydon (Uncle Bryn), Larry Lamb (Mick) and Alison Steadman (Pam), are chomping at the bit to see the script. However, he and Ruth are playing it close to the chest until they've put the final touches on it.
