Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield reportedly faced a disgruntled crowd after This Morning picked up its latest National Television Award. The ITV daytime show won an award during the showbiz ceremony held at London’s OVO Wembley Arena on Thursday evening (October 13).
The programme and its stars, including Holly, Phillip, Alison Hammond and Dermot O'Leary, saw off competition from Loose Women, The Chase and The Repair Shop to take home the gong in the Daytime category for a fifth year in a row.

But while their fellow TV stars applauded it has been reported that the crowd around them audibly booed - and it was picked up by viewers watching the glitzy event live on ITV. Scott Bryan, a TV critic and broadcaster, tweeted: "A source at the ceremony says that there were some boos in the room when This Morning won an #NTAs, but boos stopped during the speech."
Another commented: "95% sure #ITV just drowned out the audible boos This Morning received with a false cheering track, which has to be the most tragic thing I've witnessed. #NTA #NTAAwards." A third added: "Did I just hear boos for Holly and Phil? Well done to This Morning for the win though #NTA".
