Alison Hammond had fans flocking to social media as they were left baffled by what they believed was an Elvis error on This Morning. The presenter was back at the helm of the ITV daytime programme on Friday (September 23) alongside Dermot O'Leary.
It is the first time the pair have anchored the popular show since the death of the Queen earlier this month. Their return to their usual end-of-week slot comes after their co-stars Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield have faced outrage from fans who believed they jumped the queue to see the Queen Lying-in-State.
But This Morning was all in Alison and Dermot's hands today for the first time since heading off on their summer break several weeks ago. "I’m so happy to be back!" Alison declared as she welcomed viewers to the show. "It’s so lovely to see you," she said to Demot before they enjoyed a big hug.

But Alison accidentally left her mark, aka her makeup, on the shoulder of her co-host's jumper – as well as his face. Alison said: "Watch my makeup," to which Dermot replied: "Do I have makeup on me?" Wiping Dermot's face, Alison explained: "A little bit. You've got a little bit of [blush] on your face... you love it, don't you?"
They then pressed on with the show and throughout the programme they headed off to see Josie Gibson who was in Porthcawl in Wales at the world’s biggest Elvis festival. The former Big Brother star was seen chatting to some of those attending, dressed as the iconic singer, while also brining viewers details of the latest ITV competition.
But it was the Alison was pronouncing the late American singer’s name that caught viewers' attention. @EmBeePinkHair tweeted:
