In 2010 the country was rocked by Britain's biggest manhunt and 13 years on, ITV are set to shine a light on the human tragedies that lay behind the horror told through the eyes of those who sought to bring a violent killer to justice in its new drama.
The Hunt For Raoul Moat begins on Sunday night (April 16) and the three episodes will air consecutively. The drama focuses on the innocent victims of Moat's crimes - Christopher Brown, Samantha Stobbart and PC David Rathband; the police officers who put themselves in the firing line in their quest to apprehend Moat; and the local journalist who sought to tell Moat’s real story in a landscape of sensationalist reporting and social media provocation.
The A Word and Inspector George Gently actor Lee Ingleby plays Neil Adamson, a senior Northumbria Police Officer leading the race against time to apprehend Moat, The Last Kingdom's Sonya Cassidy as local journalist Diane Barnwell, Very and Three Girls actress Vineeta Rishi as Nisha Roberts, Chernobyl actor Josef Davis as Christopher Brown.and Doc Martin star Sally Messham as Samantha Stobbart. Bodyguard and Jamestown's Matt Stokoe portrays Raoul Moat.

After leaving prison in July 2010, Moat murdered his ex-girlfriend’s new partner and, the following day, shot a police officer and left him blind. The shootings prompted one of the biggest police manhunts in UK history, with 160 armed officers deployed. It ended with Moat’s suicide after a standoff with police lasting six hours.
Moat - who bore an intense grudge against the police, blaming them for the failure of his business - shot Staffordshire-born PC David Rathband while he was sitting in a police vehicle.
