I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! has provided viewers with some of TV’s most memorable moments of recent years - thanks in large part to its Bushtucker trials. The hit ITV show sees famous faces pushed to their limits - living alongside one another in the Australian jungle while struggling with hunger and missing their loved ones. And some of the most challenging moments have come courtesy of the Bushtucker trials, which involves celebs taking on gruesome tasks to win food for the camp.
From chowing down on animal parts to getting up close and personal with furry critters, some of the trials have proved too much for contestants. Last week, YouTuber Nella Rose fell victim to one challenge and had to quit it early. But she is not the first famous face to have uttered the immortal line, ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!’ Scott Henshall’s Jungle Boogie In 2006, fashion designer Scott Henshall took part in a trial where he could win 10 stars by wearing a pair of plastic trousers and dancing to five disco songs - while being showered with critters.
But he left viewers shocked when he called time on the challenge after just one track, earning the camp one star. It has often been cited as being the worst Bushtucker trial performance of all time. “I don’t dance and I hate bugs!” he screamed after bailing on the challenge.
He was second to be voted off the show that year. Natalie Appleton’s Slither River All Saints singer Natalie Appleton had already taken part in three trials on the show in 2004 when she was voted to take part in a fourth, Slither River. In the task, she had to release 10 buoys attached to a rope in the freezing cold water filled with snakes and eels.
