Coronation Street star Claire Sweeney has been inundated with messages from fans after she shared a gut-wrenching update on social media. It comes following the heartbreaking loss of her Brookside co-star Dean Sullivan last year.
The 53-year-old was left devastated following the news of his tragic death last November following a short illness. The actor, best known for playing Jimmy Corkhill in the Merseyside TV soap, died aged 68 following a diagnosis of prostate cancer in 2018.
Claire, who played his daughter Lindsey Corkhill in the former Channel 4 soap, was among those gathered at the funeral service in December to say her final goodbyes to her beloved friend, Manchester Evening News reports.
The ITV actress, famed as Cassie Plummer on the Cobbles, has now taken to Instagram on Thursday to share a string of snaps. There was various bittersweet memories in the post, featuring the late Paul O'Grady and Claire's ex-partner Alan Miller.
Sharing the photos with her 163k followers, she paired the track of Dusty Springfield's Yesterday When I Was Young alongside the montage. Claire captioned the photos: "I was sent some photos from Dean Sullivan’s house, thank you Jamie.
"They have really moved me, especially to see that 4 of these special men have passed over. I will treasure the pics and these memories RIP Dean Sullivan, Alan Miller, Gary Lawson and Paul O’Grady."
