Alesha Dixon has opened up about her Britain's Got Talent stint after viewers pointed out an issue with her performance.
The BGT judge, who is staging a comeback to the music scene with her latest single 'Ransom', took to the stage to perform the track and some of her greatest hits during the live semi-final of Britain's Got Talent last night.
But it didn't take long for eagle-eyed fans to notice something amiss with the ITV show's segment, quickly deducing Alesha's act wasn't actually live but pre-recorded. This suspicion was inadvertently confirmed by a previous blunder from another act regarding Alesha's anticipated showcase.
In a fresh interview, Alesha has now disclosed her decision to keep her daughters away from the limelight. Despite her husband Azuka Ononye accompanying her in the performance, she had to inform her eldest she couldn't join them on stage.
"Until the day I feel like she's emotionally intelligent enough to handle anything that comes with the industry, the answer will be no, you will not do that," she told The Times, reflecting on whether she would allow her daughter to enter the world of performing. Furthermore, Alesha expressed her desire to strike a balance between being a mother and pursuing her music career, reports the Mirror.
She continued: "I can't control what other people's perceptions are. My feeling on it is that I can be a mother, make music, work on television, be a businesswoman. I can write the rules for myself."
Alesha Dixon, the former Mis-Teeq singer and Britain's Got Talent judge, hasn't released new music in almost ten years, but she's ready to get back into the groove.
