Is Good Morning Britain and Lorraine live on Christmas Day, why's it on and when was it filmed?

If the excitement has kept you awake and you're up early on Christmas day, the TV may already be on and if so, you may be surprised to see that Good Morning Britain and Lorraine is on the air like it usually is early in the morning on weekdays.
That's because there is a festive special of the ITV news programme airing for the fourth time this year with some of the show's familiar faces helping get viewers in the Christmas spirit.
From 7am, the Good Morning Britain team will kick off the festivities before Lorraine serves up special performances from Joss Stone and the Change + Check Choir, during her show from 9am.

Joining Lorraine is Eisha Buchanan and her Strictly Come Dancing Christmas special partner Gorka Marquez who will discuss teaming the festive edition of the BBC competition.
Other celebs including Graham Norton, Boy George, Joel Dommett, Matt Lucas, and the Duchess of York are to send Christmas messages, while comedian Stephen Fry is to open the show with a beautiful festive poem by the Christmas tree.
Presenters Ria Hebden, Dr Hilary Jones and Mark Heyes are also in the studio as they try out Lorraine’s ‘Twinkle’ Christmas cocktail and share photos of themselves on from previous Christmas'.
And it's not just GMB and Lorraine as This Morning will also follow from 10am. Alison Hammond and Dermot O'Leary have returned to screens with a new episode of the ITV daytime show.
