May is yet another big month for new releases (not to mention finales as we excitedly await the end of “Barry” and “Succession” on the same night.) HBO might not yet have another surefire hit on its hands to emulate the success of the aforementioned two, but they have plenty of miniseries and comedy favorites. The rebooted franchise from Universal Pictures and Blumhouse debuted its first trailer to the annual convention of movie theater owners on Wednesday. The new saga is led by Tony and Grammy award winner Leslie Odom Jr. (“Hamilton”) and Ellen Burstyn, who reprises the role of Chris MacNeil from the 1973 original directed by William Friedken. The first “Exorcist” was a critical and commercial phenomenon, following two priests trying to rid an innocent girl of a nasty demonic possession.

Even platonic friendships can be tricky.

On paper, the comedic pairing of Seth Rogen and Rose Byrne shouldn’t work nearly as well as it does. However, as was proven in the two “Neighbors” films, these two have incredible chemistry and comedic timing with each other.

Charna Flam “Neighbors” co-stars Seth Rogen and Rose Byrne are reuniting on the small screen for the new Apple TV+ comedy series “Platonic.” In the new series, Rogen and Byrne play Will and Sylvia, two former BFFs approaching midlife who attempt to rekindle their friendship after a falling out. According to the show’s official logline, Will and Sylvia’s friendship eventually “becomes all consuming — and destabilizes their lives in a hilarious way.” The 10-episode series will premiere its first three episodes on May 24, with the remaining seven installments dropping Wednesdays until the finale on July 12.

Teeing off a half our of DC material in a two hour Warner Bros presetation at CinemaCon was the first ever trailer to Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom.

Blumhouse’s The Horror of Dolores Roach is set to premiere on July 7 via Prime Video.

However, Dalton’s college dream soon becomes a living nightmare when the repressed demons of his past suddenly return to haunt them both.”Patrick Wilson, who returns as Josh Lambert, marks his directorial debut for the new horror.

Is the battle against evil ever really over? The Lamberts face their demons yet again in “Insidious: The Red Door” this summer, the fifth film in the “Insidious” franchise. This latest entry follows Josh Lambert and his son Dalton as the latter heads off to college.

After working together on the combined half billion-plus grossing hits, Split and Glass, James McAvoy and Blumhouse are reteaming for a remake of Danish thriller, Speak No Evil. James Watkins (The Woman in Black) will direct from his script. Universal has set a theatrical release of Aug. 9, 2024.
