Sophie and Harry are the most popular royal baby names amongst the wider public over the past quarter of a century, new research has revealed. Whilst Charlotte and James have also remained consistent favourites down the years the data reveals. Ahead of the Queen's Platinum Jubilee, nursery retailer Kiddies Kingdom have analysed the names given to royal family members from the Queen's grandfather King George V onwards.They have then used figures from the Office of National Statistics to determine how many newborns have been given those names from 1996 to the last full year's recorded data in 2020, with an average ranking over the 25 year period putting them in order of popularity.

Royal titles are much more complicated than many might think, with some of the Queen's great-grandchildren being princes and princesses and others not. Most notably, the three children of Zara Tindall do not hold the titles.
