Phillip Schofield and Eamonn Holmes Since leaving the show, Eamonn Holmes hit out against Phillip Schofield, calling his former colleague “passive-aggressive” and claiming he is “renowned for snubbing people.” He also dubbed show bosses 'sly' for suggesting he and wife Ruth left the show when instead he claims they were axed.
“They're sly,” he told Daily Mail’s Weekend magazine. “They didn't want to announce that I'd been dropped because it would adversely affect audience figures, so they made it look as if I'd walked away from them rather than the other way round.” Eamonn said he was cut from the presenting team as he didn’t fit in with the show's “youth drive” and said he was branded “pale, stale and male.” The 62-year-old, who had previously co-presented ITV breakfast show GMTV for 12 years, added: “I'm not going to have myself derided as some sort of has-been.
