The Cambridge family have a set of 'code names' they use for one another, with Kate Middleton and Prince George both previously giving theirs away accidentally. Prince William, 39, and Kate, 40, are believed to both have fake names that they use will out and about, and it appears they've also given Prince George, eight, Princess Charlotte, six, and Prince Louis, three, their own fake aliases too. The Duchess of Cambridge once gave away one of her secret names during a shopping trip in Wales, when she and Prince William were residing in the country after getting married.
The couple rented a farmhouse near the seaside resort of Rhosneigr in Anglesey as, at the time, William was based as a search and rescue pilot at nearby RAF Valley. At the shop, Kate was about to purchase a wetsuit when she realised she'd forgotten her purse, and was unable to pay.
Following the embarrassing moment, Kate then asked the shopkeeper Dave Buckland, who did not recognise the Duchess, if she could reserve the product and come back for it after she had collected her purse. Dave agreed, and then asked Kate for a name, to which she replied “Mrs Cambridge”. An unnamed source, who witnessed the events unfold, told the Mail On Sunday back in 2012: “He was looking straight at her and actually commented that it was quite an unusual surname.
“He hadn’t a clue who she was. She just smiled and said she’d be back. He hasn’t lived it down since.” Kate isn't the only royal to have accidentally revealed a secret
