The 42 bus, which runs from Stockport to Piccadilly Gardens, is like a 'Manchester institution', says photographer Claire Wray.
It passes through one of the busiest bus corridors in Europe and has been described as ‘chaotic, stressful and unpleasant’.
It's not what Claire, from Cheadle, expected to be spending three years photographing.

But a foot injury made street photography 'almost impossible' for her.
"I still wanted to take pictures. I had the idea of hopping on the bus and pointing my camera out the window," she said.
Before she knew it, she had a project, the '42 Bus'.
"I think that's how most projects start. You just start taking pictures and you see patterns," she told the M.E.N.
Between 2012 and 2014 she caught the 42 bus, into Piccadilly Gardens and back again - even outlasting her running injury.
"Some days I wouldn't even get a good picture but you have to be there to try," Claire said.
The six mile stretch between Didsbury and the city centre connects the suburbs with universities, hospitals, the infamous ‘Curry Mile’ in Rusholme as well as parks and churches.
It also takes you through Oxford Road - which has a timetabled bus every 30 seconds - in both directions.
Claire can't pinpoint a favourite moment of being on the 40-minute bus route. She said that it was so chaotic that all of the journeys would begin to merge into one.
"Chaos, that's my stand out memory," she said.
Over lockdown, Claire has been making her photography projects into zines.
The '42 Bus' quickly became the most popular - so much so that she's now working on a second edition.
