I'm pretty sure that in most people's wardrobes there are things they don't wear.
Whether it's that dress you can't bear to part with, or those jeans you haven't fit in since the dawn of the millennium, we just tend to keep stuff don't we, 'just in case' because, well, 'you never know'.
Determined to organise my home for the new year - and following last week's decluttering of my kitchen inspired by the BBC show Sort Your Life Out, fronted by Stacey Solomon - this time I turned my attention to the bedroom, most importantly my wardrobe.

Now, I wouldn't say I have that many clothes. Leaving the packed chest of drawers to one side, and ignoring the suitcase of 'summer clothes' in the loft that I'll probably never wear again, I didn't actually have too much in my wardrobe. I learnt my lesson after my old one fell apart.
And with more time working from home post pandemic, I no longer need as many office clothes, which has helped reduce the number of hangers somewhat.
But what I did have wasn't very organised. In all honesty, it was a mess. Dresses and trousers dangling down and shoes and boots just covering the bottom, it was hard to find what I actually wanted.
It helped to go through it all and get rid of the unwanted stuff, or the things that didn't fit - there were surprisingly more than I'd realised.
With the clothes and shoes I was left with, I took inspiration from one of Stacey Solomon's 'tap to tidy' ideas and bought some boxes from B&M to sit inside the wardrobe.
