"The sooner you are dead, the better," a drunk thug told his partner before throwing acid at her. Matthew Kenner's vile messages also included: "Die in your sleep, you c***."
The 46-year-old tiler - fuelled by 'half a bottle of rum' - told the woman she was an 'embarrassment' and 'worthless'. She said the actions of her partner of eight years 'changed the trajectory of [her] life forever'.
Kenner and the woman were at a hot tub party at a friend's house in the summer of 2021 before she called for a taxi to their home in Bolton. She left without Kenner and ordered him a separate cab as he was taking a long time, Bolton Crown Court heard.

Kenner sent a 'barrage' of abusive messages to the woman. When he got back, he threw an acid-based brick cleaner over her as she lay in bed. A Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service specialist took a sample from the woman's dressing gown - and found it had a strong pH level of one.
Fortunately, she was able to get into the bathroom and immediately wash the substance off. The woman was left with scabs and luckily escaped serious injury.
Kenner walked from court due to the time he'd already served on remand. In an emotive statement, the woman said the attack was 'by the person [she] had loved for eight years, adding: "He told me to die in my sleep, that I was worthless and embarrassing. He told me he wanted me to die. I genuinely thought I was going to die.
"I kept thinking about taking the easy route out and withdrawing my statement, but I considered all the other women he has and will have in his life, they need to know what he is like."
