Residents on an estate in Bolton where violence erupted this week say teens are acting like 'animals' and causing daily chaos. Greater Manchester Police (GMP) arrested five teenagers and seized a knife following 'violent disorder' in the Harper Green area of Farnworth on Wednesday.
A section 60 order, which gives officers more powers to stop and search people, was brought in until the early hours of this morning (Friday), covering Smithhills as well as Harper Green, as they tried to get a grip on the trouble.
The force said it is believed to have been an 'isolated incident between groups known to one another.' However, a number of people living on and around Harper Green Road have told the Manchester Evening News fighting and other anti-social behaviour are a daily occurrence, especially during term time.

One 68-year-old woman, who did not want to be named but who has lived on the road for seven years, said between 50 and 100 high school pupils in uniform gathered on Harper Green playing fields as the trouble blew up shortly after finishing time, at around 3:20pm on Wednesday.
"There were that many of them it was unreal," she said. "I don't know how many were fighting. I think maybe some of them were fighting in the middle and everyone was watching. They were all shouting and screaming.
"But it's not a one-off. They were fighting a few weeks ago as well. You couldn't move for people on the street. Police definitely came to that one, I saw them. But it's always happening. On this street and on the playing fields. There was one the other week where people were getting out of taxis and fighting near the school.
