A woman who refused to swap the plane seat she'd paid for with a stranger's child was lambasted by the girl's mother - but she feels she's done nothing wrong. The woman and her boyfriend spent a little bit extra to guarantee seats together on their Tui flight to Gran Canaria.
The pair had settled into their seats when a woman in the aisle seat beside them asked them if they would consider moving. Her daughter was sitting in the row in front and was nervous about the flight, Edinburgh Live reports.
But the couple stood firm and refused to budge from the assigned seats. The mother blasted them for their attitude and for not considering her young daughter.
Feeling unsure whether or not they had made the correct decision, the woman headed online to ask others what they thought. Telling her tale on Mumsnet's Am I Being Unreasonable forum, she wrote: "Last week I was travelling to Gran Canaria with Tui.
"I had booked mine and my boyfriend's seats when we booked and paid £22 for both. I had the window and he had the middle.
"A lady sat on the end and her daughter was in front. She asked if they could have our two seats and we have hers/her daughter's or my boyfriend switch with her daughter.
"I politely said 'no', which she wasn't happy about. We got: 'What difference does it make? You're adults, my daughter is scared of flying and is a minor.' Anyway we wouldn't move."
Questioning her decision, she added: "Was I in the wrong? Surely if she was that bothered she could have paid like us."
The post attracted a number of comments, with most people supporting the couple's refusal to budge - and others calling out the mum for her own behaviour.
One person replied: "You are completely in the right in my opinion! I wouldn't have moved
