“As I enjoyed an evening boat ride on the River Thames alongside a private chef, I was left speechless when I looked up to see “Will you marry me?” written in fireworks. As soon as the display lit up the Greenwich skyline, I burst into tears. But it wasn’t me being proposed to – I was the one behind it.
I was working in event production when my sister Tiffany came to me almost 10 years ago and said she wanted to launch a romance planning agency because she wanted to put an end to bad dates and awful presents. I thought she was crazy, but I couldn’t have been more wrong. Whether it’s an anniversary or bridal shower, our business The One Romance has gone from strength to strength.
We plan three proposals every week and we’re having to turn clients away. Whether someone has £1,000 or £50,000 to spend, it’s still special to me and each project is close to my heart. Given that every person’s love story is unique, no two proposals look the same.
We’ve had a Romeo And Juliet- themed engagement in the past, but also fashion shows and ballet-themed proposals. On average, clients spend between £2,000 and £5,000. However, our most expensive proposal cost more than £100,000 and involved us shutting down the River Thames for a couple who had flown all the way from the US.
Combining the couple’s love for fireworks, wine and the sights of London, we treated them to a wine-tasting cruise along the river. For the hour-long trip, a private chef cooked meals that defined their relationship, including macaroni and cheese from their first date and their favourite lobster dish. In order to make sure everything ran smoothly, myself, a photographer and videographer went undercover as fellow diners on the boat.

Jazz Tangcay Artisans Editor Composer Daniel Pemberton pushed a few boundaries and “made something really creative and different” when he scored 2018’s “Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse.” When he returned to score the sequel, “Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse,” he knew he would have to “push it as far as we can go.” Pemberton says he had to build the score from the ground up, which was complicated. “You’re trying not to make a score that sounds like other film scores. You’re trying to invent your own language.” Inventing that language took experimentation, research and failure. He explains, “I spent two years researching and developing this score, going through ideas, coming up with concepts and throwing them out.”

Zack Sharf Digital News Director David Maisel might not be a name Marvel fans think of when they talk about the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but the entertainment executive recently stressed to The New Yorker that the “MCU wouldn’t exist” without him. Maisel is Marvel Studios’ former president and the initial architect of the MCU, which Kevin Feige has since taken the reigns of as the company’s current president. Feige’s name has become synonymous with Marvel’s success, which Maisel said has all but overshadowed his contributions. The Post spotlighted for being a die-hard “Swiftie” had her dreams come true at the pop superstar’s concert at MetLife Stadium Sunday – when Taylor Swift knelt down and placed the fedora on her head while singing “22.”“I felt so special, happy, nauseous, shocked, excited,” 12-year-old Grace DelVecchio, who has Down Syndrome, told The Post about the special moment. Prior to the DelVecchio family attending T-Swizzle’s Eras Tour concerts on June 26 and 28, The Post and the DelVecchios reached out to Swift’s public relations team several times to request a meet-and-greet with Grace’s idol – but never received a response. So when Grace and her dad, Michael DelVecchio, were instructed by a security guard to go to the end of the ninth row where they were sitting, Michael initially didn’t know what to think. But within seconds, he realized that Swift was in the middle of singing “Enchanted” – the song that routinely came before “22,” during which Swift traditionally gives her fedora to an audience member. “I knew what was going to happen next because I’ve read about it previously.
